Fitness Businesses Need to Act Quickly

We recently learned (despite much effort on our part) that fitness facilities in Washington state must close again. I know that many fitness facilities across the country are facing similar shut downs. We are extremely disappointed, but we have to work with what we have and move forward.


I gave these words of encouragement and some action steps to our team:

 

The only thing we can control is what we control.

Someone told me to think like we are in a boat. We can’t control the weather, the wind, conditions…we can just control what we do with it all.

We’ve gone through this before and survived and we’ll do it again!

It will only make us stronger. Our clients will need us now more than ever to keep their health and fitness a priority during the next month. There will be a lot of depression with this isolation through the holidays so let’s try to maintain a positive sanctuary for our clients and provide some level of fun and community!

We all need to do our part to keep clients informed and engaged:

I posted an announcement on Facebook right away. This will give information and clarity to our clients. Continue to post information on our social media platforms.

Trainer out reach:

Reach out to all your clients starting with your clients scheduled for live sessions in the next couple days and try to convince them to transition to virtual and/or outdoor training.

Managers:

Set up a daily schedule that you can commit to being at the studio. We need to go live with a virtual/outdoor schedule and let clients know when they can come in to purchase sessions/equipment etc.


This pandemic is effecting all of our fitness businesses in different ways, but one truth remains: we have to act quickly and decisively. Continue to fight for the fitness industry, your clients and your business. We will get through this together!
