Planning and executing a weight loss challenge can be daunting, but the payout can be HUGE if you do it right. So, how do we execute our yearly 6 week weight loss challenge that typically brings in $15k – $20k in extra revenue?

Our Spring Makeover Challenge details…how it works!:

  • Participants register in advance for a variety of different program options based on their needs. For example, some people just want the friendly competition and that is enough to motivate them to do what they need to do so they pay only $47 to enroll. Others want more private instruction and will enroll in the program that includes personal training two times per week for $997.

muscle-class-sherriOur annual 6 Week Spring Makeover Challenge allows our clients to participate in a fun, friendly team competition to help them shed that extra layer that many of us put on during the cold, dark rainy days of winter.  Each of our trainers recruit team members and they all compete against each other to see who can ramp it up the most and achieve the best results.  There’s nothing like a little peer pressure to get your staff and cleints to do what they need to do to reach their goals.

We are in the marketing phase of our Spring Makeover Challenge. It is up to our trainers to recruit current, past and new clients to join their teams. They each have their own spin on how they will get clients to lean down and look great over the 6 weeks challenge. Read more on Host a Weight Loss Challenge…

Is Working Out Making Your Clients Hungrier?!

Published on January 17, 2015 By Sherri

Fruits-and-Vegetables-1024x819

Do your clients tell you that they are “starving” after a workout? Mine tell me this all of the time, but I remind them that although a 30 minute workout will burn approximately 300 calories it can take just a few minutes to consume 300 calories.  As you know some clients make the mistake of thinking that since they exercise that gives them free reign to eat whatever they want. Unfortunately that’s not the case. If their goal is to lose weight, they need to practice healthy nutrition and portion control just like everyone else.

Explaining Aerobic & Anaerobic To Your Clients

Published on March 27, 2014 By Sherri

I am sure many of you have come up against clients who question why they need to do cardio exercise. Of course you know the importance of combining aerobic and anaerobic cardio, strength training, stretching and other forms of exercise…but your clients may not. I always like to give my clients the facts about their fitness and do it in a way that is easy to understand and suggest doable ways to accomplish what I am suggesting.

Here is a great way to help your clients understand the difference between aerobic and anaerobic exercise and to show then why both are important in reaching goals.

I start by telling clients that every good cardio program should include aerobic and anaerobic exercise with some variable impact and agility training.

IMGL6304Aerobic Exercise:

Aerobic exercise is easy to explain.  It involves going out for a walk, jog, cycle, swim, hike, x-country ski, indoor cardio equipment or taking a fitness class.  It includes exercise that is within your comfort zone and at an intensity that you could hold for 20 minutes plus.  This type of exercise will condition your heart and achieve numerous health benefits.

Anaerobic Exercise:

Anaerobic exercise is a more challenging form of exercise.  Read more on Explaining Aerobic & Anaerobic To Your Clients…
