Do you ever get these questions from your clients?

  • Is High Intensity Training the way to go?

  • Or is Long, Slow Distance Training better?

  • What muscle conditioning workouts enhance overall fitness best – is it Bootcamp classes, Barre, Yoga, Pilates or traditional weight training?

Yes. They Need To Lift Heavy

November 7, 2017

I am sure you preach the importance of strength training with your clients, but sometimes clients need concrete information on WHY they need to lift weights. So, after talking with them about strength training….follow up with the information below:

“Many physiologists and researchers considering Strength Conditioning to be the true Fountain of Youth – the magic “pill” to reverse or prevent a significant portion of the aging process.

Many of the changes people experience as they age are due to a loss in muscle mass. So if we can maintain a significant amount of muscle tissue as we age, we can expect to age much more slowly.

Let’s look at some of the research and benefits of strength training:

Strength training will increase muscle endurance and strength, improve bone density and posture, boost your metabolism, increase functional capacity, improve your blood pressure and blood lipid levels, decrease joint pain and reduce your risk of falling. In addition, muscle looks good and can improve your overall self esteem and confidence. You’ll move with better strength, balance, coordination and agility and your performance in your recreational pursuits will be enhanced significantly. Read more on Yes. They Need To Lift Heavy…

Clients Have Poor Posture?

September 26, 2017

Do your clients have poor posture? I am sure some of them do and their poor posture can cause back, neck and shoulder pain. Talk to your clients about improving their posture. Send them this information or show them these exercises next time you see them.

Since many of us spend so much more time hunched over our laptops, Ipads and cell phones, it’s easy to see why many younger adults are depicting the typical hunch back posture that you normally wouldn’t get until you are in your 80s or 90s. We are even starting to see this kyphotic, hunch posture in our kids!

Bad posture places excessive stress on your muscles and joints which can result in a tight, sore and stressed body. This can lead to back pain, neck pain, shoulder issues, headaches and other health issues and/or injuries.

September 19, 2017

Hey Fit Pros….I published this blog on our client blog and I want to share it with you as well.

I recently had 3 friends get hit by a car while riding their bikes so I wanted to remind drivers and cyclists how to navigate the roads safely. I’m not blaming either group – I think we can all do better!

Please share with your staff and your clients!

Bathroom Ads? Why Not?

September 12, 2017

It is getting progressively more difficult to capture the attention of our clients and potential new clients when trying to advertise our services. The amount of social media and email notices we each get in a day can be overwhelming and that often means we miss things or don’t have the time to read each message carefully. Good news? You have a captive audience right there in your studio and at other local businesses. Yep, in the bathrooms.

Do you place ads on the doors of your bathrooms or on the wall behind the urinals at your studio or fitness facility? If you don’t, you should! Talk about a captive audience.

We create fliers for all of our current events, seminars, specials, holiday closures etc. and place them around the studio, and that includes the doors of the bathrooms. Make sure that you have someone assigned to creating and posting these fliers throughout your facility. Read more on Bathroom Ads? Why Not?…

Motivating Mind Games

August 22, 2017

Clients come to us for many different reasons, but one of the top reasons is because they need the motivation and accountability that comes with personal training and group training. But, what happens when those same clients are trying to find the motivation to exercise when you aren’t there to push them? Try telling them about these effective mind games that can be big time motivators…..

Mantras

Pick an inspiring phrase that you repeat over and over again to put you in a trance-type state that assures you to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Something like “I can do this”, “I’m stronger than I think I am”, “Keep going”, “Never quit” or “I got this” might do the trick for you.
