Partner Training – Tips For Clients

March 30, 2016

upper cut

Hopefully you have some partner/team training time slots/clients on your personal training calendar. If you do, send these tips on how to be a solid workout buddy to your clients! Show them that you are thinking of them!

Make The Commitment

Decide on the day(s) and time(s) both of you will commit to training together. You don’t want to have to decide when the next training workout will be at each workout – make it simple and easy so you both know the exact day(s) and time(s) each week. It’s not that you can’t be flexible and adjust if needed but you don’t want to have to spend a lot of time reviewing each other’s schedule each week to determine when you can find the time. March 24, 2016

12189907_10153647039978607_627955829296153599_nBuilding a successful group training schedule can be a daunting task. There are many factors to take into consideration and sometimes it is difficult to know where to start! We revamp our group training schedule 3 times per year. These changes coincide with the client surveys that we conduct 3 times per year (scheduled into our Yearly Marketing Plan).

Your fist step is going to be to create and send out a client survey that will provide you with the feedback you need to develop a group program that will serve the needs of your current clients. Read more on Building a Successful Group Training Schedule…

Partner Training Ideas

March 16, 2016

Here are a few of the partner training exercises that I recommend to my clients and trainers. If you are looking for some fun partner training ideas for your personal training sessions or group training sessions you have come to the right place.

Want more than the 3 exercises I provide here? Go to my client blog site and search “partner training” or look at the past 7 weeks of blog posts!

Remind your clients that working out with a partner is fun, challenging and because your buddy is counting on you, it’s great for helping you both stick to your workout routine.

On Floor Trainer Reviews

March 9, 2016

DSC02801One of the tasks that is included in our yearly marketing plan each year is for our Fitness & Training Director to schedule on floor trainer reviews with each of our personal trainers. If you haven’t included this in your yearly marketing plan it isn’t too late! Remember, your clients expect the very best from you and your team. Spending time with each of your personal trainers (rookies and experienced trainers) helps the trainer hone in on what is expected of himself/herself and allows you to give constructive feedback. Make sure your standards are being met. Take the time to conduct on floor trainer reviews with your staff!

Here are a couple of the things our Fitness & Training Director will be looking for:

  • Arrives early and prepared for session
  • Appropriate attire, hygiene and speech
  • Gives a warm greeting to client
  • Checks with client on the status of their workouts/fitness routine
  • Has client sign in for session
  • Finishes session on time
  • Teaches exercises using an appropriate style (explain, demonstrate, client practices, quizzing)
  • Session is dynamic and interactive
  • Offers regular and appropriate eye contact
  • Body language demonstrates focus and attention on client / Hands-on spotting
